Chocolate Banana Beet Green Smoothie

Come join me in and indulge in some beets!  Beets have always tasted like dirt to me however they are completely hidden in this smoothie which tastes like a chocolate banana milkshake!

Beets are such a power-house food because they are so beneficial for the liver.  The liver may be one of the most unappreciated organs in the human body.  It works 24/7/365 to keep the body pure of toxins and harmful substances.  As well, the liver supports nearly every organ in the body in some facet.  (1)  So give your liver some love today and whip up this tasty smoothie!


Chocolate Banana Beet Green Smoothie


  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla coconut milk

  • 1 handful fresh spinach

  • 1/3 cup steamed beets

  • 2 Tbsp. raw cacao powder

  • 20 drops stevia (or 2 Tbsp. of your favorite unprocessed sweetener such as agave, coconut nectar or raw honey)

  • 1 frozen banana


  • Blend all ingredients in a high-power blender until smooth.

  • Serve.

    I will have to give this a try. I don’t like beets either but I need more iron in my diet and do not eat red meat. Iron supplements are hard to digest.
